Following the disappointing losses to both Malaysia and Hong Kong in the first two games in the ACC Eastern Region T20, Nepal men’s national squad have dropped down in the latest ICC T20I team rankings as of 3rd Mar 2020. Nepal is currently ranked 15th in the World with 185 rating points, while Scotland (12th) becomes the top-ranked Associate member in the T20I team rankings.

Ireland and UAE have also overtaken Nepal and both are on 186 ranking points and currently occupy the 13th and 14th place in the rankings. Nepal still has matches against Singapore and Thailand remaining in the group stage format of ACC Eastern Region and will look to finish on a high with wins in both to collect crucial ranking points to maintain their position.

Nepal Women’s team, have maintained their 14th place in the global rankings. However, with no fixtures confirmed in place in the near future, their ranking may take a nose-dive once the other teams from African and European regions start playing more T20I matches or series.
