Nepal U19 wrap-up U19 Quadrangular campaign without an encore

A one-man show by Afghanistan U19 player Reyaz Hassan ensured that Nepal U19 could not repeat an encore of their brilliant win over them couple of days back as Afghanistan U19 clinched the 3rd/4th play-off match in the U19 Quadrangular series at Ekana stadium in Lucknow.

Reyaz Hassan scored an unbeaten century opening the innings for Afghanistan and carrying his bat throughout the innings and then came back to pick up a 4-wicket haul to derail Nepal’s chase. What didn’t help Nepal’s case was that none of the batsmen could kick-on after reaching their twenties.

A crucial preparation for both Nepal U19 and Afghanistan U19 squads before the all-important Asian Cricket Council U19 Asia Cup in Bangladesh ensured good match-time in the middle for the players and one hopes that both the squads will have a similar look in the Asia Cup campaign as well.

Nepal U19 and Afghanistan U19 got to play against India U19 squad members as well and it’ll bode well when they face each other again as all the three countries are placed in the same group in the U19 Asia Cup with UAE U19 joining them as the 4th team in the group.
