Netherlands name unconfirmed County players in Tri-nation T20I series squad

Netherlands players currently playing white-ball cricket in England County cricket, Timm van der Gugten (Glamorgan), Paul van Meekeren & Roelof van der Merwe (both Somerset), have been named in the squad announced for the T20I Tri-nation series to be held in Netherlands involving themselves, Ireland and Scotland.

The squad is more all the same, which took part in ICC World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe in Mar 2018.

The series will mark the first T20I tournament in which Netherlands will be led by their new captain, Pieter Seelaar. Seelaar had the first taste of National captaincy, when he led Netherlands “A” on their tour of Guernsey last month. Zulfiqar brothers, Sikander and Saqib, who have been performing consistently for Netherlands “A” and in the ongoing Pro-series between Seafarers and Hurricanes. Bas de Leede too comes in the squad after impressing for Netherlands “A” and in the ongoing domestic Topklasse season.

Shane Snater collected his maiden List-A 5-for recently for Essex in the Royal London One-Day Cup and will be looking forward to securing his spot in the first XI in the pace department.
