New Zealand make it 2 out of 2 as they beat Sri Lanka in 2017 Hong Kong Sixes

New Zealand made it 2 wins out of their 2 matches after defeating Sri Lanka in the 2017 Hong Kong Sixes.

Sri Lanka could manage to score 95/3 in their 5 overs with Rajapaksa continuing his good form by scoring 31 off 8 deliveries. Angelo Parera also contributed 23 off 7 but the later batsmen could not accelerate the scoring in the final overs. Shanan Stewart once again was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 2/13 off his one over.

New Zealand out Ronnie Hira early but Elliot Herd (28 off 7) & Graeme Beghin (31 off 8) took the team close before Herd fell. Brad Cachopa (13 off 8), Shanan Stewart (11 n.o off 3) & Peter Fulton took New Zealand to victory scoring 98/3 in 4.4 overs to win by 3 wickets.

Sri Lanka will now await the results of Bangladesh, Australia & New Zealand matches to see if they go through to Cup or the Plate finals.
