Cricket season started in Cayman Islands with Northants visit before lockdown

Cayman Cricket men’s squad got their first International assignment done at home as English county club Northamptonshire visited the country from Feb 13th -23rd 2020 on the club’s pre-development tour, which is part of the 2-year strategic partnership agreement made between Northamptonshire and Cayman Cricket.

Northamptonshire squad, comprising of mostly the members of the Club’s Academy and few senior members of the clubs first XI, played two T20 matches against Cayman national select XI and a T20 match each against Cayman Premier League (CPL) All Stars XI squad and Secretary XI squad. All matches were played at The Jimmy Powell Oval.

Cayman Islands are set to take part in the 8-nation (Argentina, Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Panama and USA) ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Regional Final – Americas tournament in Canada from Aug 18th – 24th, 2020.
