Oman Cricket announce squad for tour by USA

Oman Cricket selectors have announced the squad that will play 3 matches (50-overs) against the touring USA team next month.

Sultan Ahmed will once again lead the side after being named skipper by the selectors ahead of a busy schedule for Oman players with back-to-back series confirmed against Hong Kong and USA.

“We need to put our team together and get the right combinations before we head for Namibia,” said Duleep Mendis, Head Coach & Chief Development Officer for Oman Cricket.

Soon after the USA series, Oman will be heading to UAE to play three matches against Hong Kong, as they prepare themselves for ICC WCL Division 2 in Feb 2018 in Namibia.

“We will be trying many players in this series to identify our strengths and weaknesses and get the best possible combinations for our team. The two series against will set the tone for the Namibia trip. We also plan to play more matches before we head to Pretoria for pre-tour preparation,” Mendis concluded.

Oman had qualified for the WCL Division Two in May 2017 after finishing behind Canada in Division Three in Uganda.
