The U19 youngsters in Nepal’s National squad along with their skipper, Paras Khadka led their team to victory over UAE A by 25 runs in Dubai. Nepal are on their pre-tour before flying to Namibia for ICC WCL Division 2 in Feb 2018.
Dilip Nath’s 61 off 60 deliveries led the Nepali batting charts with Rohit Paudel’s 43 off 51 and Karan KC’s cameo towards the end of the innings with 35 n.o from only 16 deliveries took Nepal to 246 before they got bowled out in the 50th over.
Laxman Srikumar (3/18), Karthik Mayappan (2/34) & Mohammad Qasim (2/36) were the pick of the bowlers for UAE A.
The hosts got off to a good start as Chirag Suri (45 off 50) and Fahad Nawaz (36 off 43) put on 87 runs for the opening wicket. UAE A suffered a mini-collapse from there as they lost 4 wickets in quick succession to get reduced to 92/5 & then 111/5 soon after to let Nepal come back strongly into the game.
Paras Khadka (5/36) and Dipendra Singh Airee (3/38) wrecked the top and middle order for UAE as only Neil Lobo (59 off 90) playing a lone hand to take UAE A till 221 before he was the last man to get dismissed to hand Nepal a 25 runs victory with 8 balls to spare.
