Global T20 League Canada organisers have announced that the 2nd edition of the franchise-based league is going to start at Maple Leaf Club ground in King City, with a total of 22 group stage matches along with the play-off’s and final will be held from Jul 25th – Aug 11th, 2019.

The organisers have announced that due to overwhelming response received for player registrations, the originally decided player draft for 01st Jun 2019 has been postponed for 9th Jun 2019. Vancouver Knights are the defending Champions from the inaugural edition of the ICC approved league.

The 2019 edition will see the addition of a new team, New York Legends, who will be replacing West Indies “B” team from the inaugural edition of the tournament. A good number of Associate member nation players took part in the inaugural edition and one hopes that the number will increase in the upcoming edition and certainly, a bigger number of Canadian players are involved in the playing XI’s to provide the players with the much required exposure to play alongside the overseas professionals.

Also, with ICC Men’s T20 World Cup regional finals and 2019 CPL in not too distant future, GT20 Canada will be crucial for Canada and USA players in term’s of preparing for the all important T20I competition, where Bermuda and Cayman Islands will also take part. The regional finals will be hosted by Bermuda.
