Papua New Guinea (PNG) U-19 team finished off a good preparatory tour of Brisbane, Australia, ahead of the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup starting from Jan 13th in New Zealand.

PNG are placed in a tough group with U-19 teams from India, Australia & Zimbabwe and it will be an uphill battle to qualify from the group for the quarter-finals.

The preparatory tour of Brisbane saw the U-19 team play 4 matches against Queensland representative sides (2 against U-19 and 2 against U-15 teams). Here are the match results from the tour:

Match 1: PNG U-19 188 all out in 48 overs (Heagi Toua 72, Simon Atai 29, Leke Morea 17 n.o) beat Queensland U-19 Representative 186 all out in 44.2 overs (Leke Morea 3/35, Daure William Aiga 3/41, Nou Reva Rarua 1/7, Sinaka Arua 1/8, Boge Arua 1/23) by 2 runs

Match 2: PNG U-19 114 all out (Sinaka Arua 21, Leke Morea 19 n.o, Igo Mahuru 18) Lost to Queensland U-19 Representative 115/3 in 20 overs (Sinaka Arua 2/15, Heagi Toua 1/5) by 7 wickets

Match 3: Queensland U-15 Representative 175 all out (Tau Nou 3/50, Boge Arua 1/20) beat PNG U-19 135 all out (William Aiga 44, Heagi Toua 41) by 40 runs.   

Match 4: PNG U-19 224/7 in 50 overs (Eisa Eka 53 n.o, Nou Rarua 44 n.o, Heagi Toua 27, William Aiga 26, Ovia Sam 21) beat Queensland U-15 Representative 168 all out in 40 (James Junior Tau 2/43, Leke Morea 2/25) by 56 runs
