Uganda have been reasonably successful against Qatar’s national side; however, they have come up short against their President XI team, which have won both the T20 and 45-overs matches at Asian Town Cricket Stadium at Doha.

Batting first, President XI racked up 244/7 in their 45 overs before dismissing Uganda to 232 in their full quota of overs to win the thriller match by 12 runs.

Waleed (64 off 87) top-scored for President XI with many of their batters getting starts but unable to convert them into bigger knocks. Henry Senyondo (2/53) was the pick of the bowlers for Uganda.

Uganda were in some trouble at 118/5 during their chase and it took Muhumuza’s innings of 62 off 86 deliveries & Kenneth Waiswa’s of 45 n.o off only 24 deliveries , which kept them in the hunt for an unlikely win from behind but eventually their challenge fizzled out with the fall of their late order wickets.

Tamoor Sajjad (3/35) once again provided crucial breakthroughs for President XI and was given good support from G Gayan (2/38) and M Mugheeb (2/59).
