Ramli stars in Malaysia’s President’s XI win over Hong Kong

It was a tale of two individual performances that dominated the first 50-overs match between Malaysia’s President’s XI and Hong Kong at Kinrara oval on 09th Apr 2018.

Haroon Arshad of Hong Kong and Syahadat Ramli of MCA President’s XI were definitely the men-of-the-match with both bat and ball as MCA managed to win the match by 3 wickets chasing 191 for victory.

Hong Kong top 3 will be disappointed with the fact that they made it to their twenties but could not stay for longer than that and will be looking to amend things in the 2nd match of the series on 10th Apr 2018.

Hong Kong managed to reach 190 before getting all out much large to knocks of 38 runs each from Shahid Wasif and Haroon Arshad. Couple of wickets each to Syahadat Ramli, Muhammad Fitri and Muhammad Anwar for MCA President’s XI.

The host’s were provided good start by Muhammad Fikri after the early wickets of Ainool Haqqiem and Che Wan Razlan. Ahmad Faiz (batting mainstay he will be during the WCL Division 4), Syed Aziz and Shafiq Sharif played their parts making scores in twenties but it was Syahadat Ramli, who stayed unbeaten till the end making unbeaten 47 runs to his name.

Hong Kong are trying out new players, who have performed well in the domestic competitions and ACC events in the squad for this series along with few national players, who are not regulars in the playing XI.

Malaysia players have the next three games against Hong Kong as they wind up their preparations for ICC WCL Division 4 having already played against Singapore and Sri Lanka Army XI in the past few weeks.
