Afghanistan’s spin sensation & ICC 2017 Associate Cricketer of the year, Rashid Khan is all set to re-unite with his Big Bash franchise, Adelaide Strikers head coach, Jason Gillespie, as he has signed up with English county, Sussex Sharks to play in the Vitality T20 Blast.

Jason Gillespie, who is all set to take over as head coach for the Sharks was delighted as the club was able to acquire Rashid’s services for the first half of the tournament, subjected to his International clearance and VISA approval.

“I have been incredibly impressed with his attitude, work ethic and team-first mentality,” said Gillespie.
“His form for Afghanistan and the T20 teams he has played for over the last couple of years has been phenomenal.”
Sussex’s Director of Cricket, Keith Greenfield expressed his delight at Khan’s signing told the club website “Rashid is the most sought-after spin talent in the world currently. He has made a significant impact in all the teams he has played for to date, so to make this move happen and have him join the other exciting talent we already have in our T20 line up is fantastic.”
Rashid will be seen playing alongside another most sought after player for T20 leagues across the globe, Jofra Archer. A move, that will guarantee sold out crowds for Sussex matches in the 2018 Vitality Blast. Sussex also announced that seasoned campaigner, Luke Wright will be leading the Sharks in the Vitality 2018 Blast.
