Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) have announced their 14-member Women’s national squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa regional qualifiers from September 7th – 20th in Gaborone, Botswana.
Rwanda Women will be taking part in the 11-nation event, that includes teams from Cameroon, Namibia, Nigeria, Malawi, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Tanzania Uganda, Zimbabwe and the host’s. The winner of the event will advance to the global qualifiers in 2022. Group A includes host’s Botswana, Eswatini, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, while Group B includes Cameroon, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Uganda.
Rwanda Women have had competitive game-time during the 2021 Kwibuka Memorial Women’s T20 tournament held in June at the Gahanga International cricket stadium in Kigali, where they finished 3rd in the 5-nation event behind Kenya Women and Namibia Women.
