Salman Butt on board as consultant coach for Singapore’s 2022 season

Singapore Cricket Association (SCA) have appointed former Pakistan International Salman Butt as the consultant head coach for the men’s national squad ahead of a crucial 2022 season that includes multiple ICC tournaments and Asia Cup qualifiers.

Singapore men’s squad are currently playing a select squad from Pakistan in a set of six (6) series of T20 matches to begin their preparations ahead of the T20 Global qualifier in Zimbabwe in July 2022, followed by Asia Cup qualifier and Challenge League (List-A) event in Canada. This won’t be the first time that SCA have appointed a specialist coaching role for the national squad, having had the services of DAV Whatmore as the coach in 2020 during the Asia Cup Eastern region qualifier tournament in Thailand.
