Samoa include players based in NZ & Australia in squad for ICC EAP qualifiers

Samoa Cricket Association (SICA) have announced the 14-member squad for the upcoming ICC World T20 East Asia-Pacific qualifiers, to be held in Fiji in Aug 2018.

In a major boost to the squad, New Zealand based Auckland player, Sean Solia has been selected in the squad. 25-year old Sean Solia has been a prolific upcoming domestic performer for Auckland, having played 12 First-class, 14 List-A and 16 T20’s in his career so far.

The other overseas players selected in the squad are based in Australia in Andrew Michael (played for Queensland) and Dominic Michael, who has played 17 First-Class, 25 List-A and 4 T20’s and has had stints with Big Bash League franchises, Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes.

Samoa will be competing against host’s Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu in the double round-robin group format for two qualification spots into the East Asia-Pacific regional finals.
