In all probability, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Australia’s Daniel Christian might be competing for the final overseas spot in the playing XI in Delhi Daredevils opening game in 2018 VIVO IPL against Kings XI Punjab on 8th Apr 2018 at Mohali.
With Colin Munro, Jason Roy, Daniel Christian, Chris Morris and Sandeep Lamichhane already joining with the squad and Glenn Maxwell likely to arrive in India on Sunday and no updates yet about Trent Boult’s arrival, it could be assumed that Roy, Munro and Morris will be sureshot starters in the first match.

With the final overseas spot vacant, it needs to be seen what kind of track and surface is at store come Sunday and if Gautam Gambhir and Ricky Ponting will go ahead with both Amit Mishra and Sandeep Lamichhane in the playing XI, considering Colin Munro can also bowl four handy overs in a T20 match, much like Christian.
