Australia’s KFC Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Melbourne Stars have signed up Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane as their overseas professional for BBL||08 season.
Sandeep will join the squad from the commencement of the season and will play the first half of the tournament before making a trip to Bangladesh to play in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Sandeep will team up with Australia’s leg-spinner Adam Zampa for Melbourne Stars during the tournament. At the time when he will be in Bangladesh, young English county leggie for Lancashire, Matt Parkinson, will be replacing him in the tournament.
Melbourne Stars List manager, Trent Woodhill, spotted Sandeep during 2017 ACC U19 Asia Cup in Malaysia and was impressed with Sandeep’s skills and enthusiasm for the sport.
Sandeep has previously played grade level cricket in Sydney in 2016 with former Australia captain, Michael Clarke.
