Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane had a good debut for Nangarhar Leopards franchise in the ongoing Afghanistan Premier League (APLT20) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium; however, his team went down against Paktia Panthers by 7 wickets in the match.
Sandeep, who was the leading wicket-taker in the just concluded ICC World T20 Asia “B” qualifiers, took the scalps of South Africa’s Cameron Delport and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza to finish with figures of 2/23 off his 4 overs for Nangarhar Leopards.

Sandeep Lamichhane had a poor start conceding 18 runs in his very first over (Paktia’s Ihsanullah Janat picked up 17 of those) but came back strongly to only give away 5 runs in his 3 overs and picking up the 2 wickets. Paktia’s captain Mohammad Shahzad, who guided his team to victory with an unbeaten knock of 78 from 43 deliveries, did not look to take much of chances against Sandeep once he picked up the wickets in the 10th over of the chase.
