Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) have announced their 14-member Men’s squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia (Western) region qualifiers in Qatar from October 23rd – 29th, 2021. Saudi Arabian team will be competing with the host’s, Maldives, Kuwait and Bahrain for one qualification spot into one of the two (2) Global qualifiers in 2022.
The team is being coached by former Afghanistan national team coach Kabir Khan, and his immediate priority is to have the new-look squad deliver results that takes the team to the Global qualifiers. The previous occasion when Saudi Arabia registered victories against their opponents in the qualifiers was during the Asian Cricket Council Western region T20 tournament held in Oman in 2019, which they won by registering a famous win over Qatar in the final. However in the Asia Cup Western region T20 qualifiers tournament held in 2020 in Oman, Saudi Arabia were unable to win crucial matches against UAE and Kuwait during the group stages.
