Schedule and Marquee players announced for 2019 Euro T20 Slam

The Inaugural edition of ICC approved Euro T20 Slam will be hosted by Cricket Boards of Ireland, Scotland and Netherlands from 30th Aug, 2019 till the Final on 22nd Sep, 2019. All matches will be played across VRA Cricket Academy in Amsterdam, Grange Club in Edinburgh and Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin.

The league will take place from 30th Aug – 22nd Sep 2019, with a total of 33 matches including group stage, semifinals and final to be staged across all the three countries. All 6 teams will have 9 domestic players and 7 overseas professionals in the 16-member squads with the starting XI in each match to feature 6 domestic players as a mandate.

The tournament will be played in four blocks, with all six teams playing in Amsterdam between Aug 30th – Sep 05th, at The Grange between Sep 06th – 12th, and at Malahide between Sep 13th – 19th, followed by the semifinals and final at yet to be announced venues.

Ireland will be represented by Dublin Chiefs and Belfast Titans in the T20 Slam. Scotland will be represented by Edinburgh Rocks and Glasgow Giants, while Netherlands will be represented by Amsterdam Knights and Rotterdam Rhinos.

Marquee Players:

Shane Watson (Australia), Luke Ronchi (New Zealand), Brendon McCullum (New Zealand), Babar Azam (Pakistan), Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) & Chris Lynn (Australia)

England captain Eoin Morgan, Dale Steyn from South Africa and Martin Guptill from New Zealand have also joined the league as “Icon” players in the player draft. In all possibility, now-retired Indian International Yuvraj Singh could also be part of the league after expressing his wish to join the tournament after being drafted in for GT20 Canada as well.
