BCCI had earlier announced that an U19 Men’s Quadrangular tournament in India in September 2018 will be held from Sep 09th – 20th, 2018 in Kolkata, prior to U19 ACC (Asian Cricket Council) Asia Cup scheduled to take place in October 2018 in Bangladesh. The tournament will be played in the 50-overs format. However, the venue for the tournament has been changed to Lucknow.
U19 team’s from Afghanistan and Nepal will take part in the tournament as a lead-up to Asia Cup. All 5 Full members in the region (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan) along with non-full members, Nepal, Hong Kong and UAE will form the 8-nation U19 Asia Cup.
Head Coach of Nepal U19 Cricket Team Binod Das and other management personnel held the selection trials for U19 prospects, following which the final list of 15 players was sent to International Cricket Council (ICC) for approval.
ICC have approved the list since and the 15-member squad for the U19 quadrangular has been announced.

In the previously held U19 Asia Cup edition in Malaysia, Nepal U19 defeated India U19 and Afghanistan U19 beat Pakistan U19 twice en-route to winning the Asia Cup trophy. The tournament brought many accolades for Afghanistan’s Mujeeb ur Rahman and Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane.
