UAE, Scotland and USA to compete in Round 3 in CWC League 2 Qualification Pathway Tournament towards 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup - Images by ICC Online Media Zone @ICC (Twitter)

Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) will be hosting team’s from United States of America (USA Cricket) and Scotland (Cricket Scotland) from Dec 08th – 15th, 2019 in the 3rd round of the ICC Cricket World Cup (CWC) League 2 qualification pathway programme towards 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.

While Scotland and USA have already played a round each in League 2 tournament, winning 3 out of their 4 completed ODI matches, UAE will be making their debut in the 7-nation tournament. Only Nepal among the 7 countries will be left, who are yet to play any matches in the League 2 tournament programme. Scotland and UAE were involved in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers, while USA will be taking part in Windies Super50 tournament before flying to Sharjah/Dubai for the Tri-series.

All three team’s will play 2 ODI matches each against their opponents in the Tri-series, with the first round of 3 matches to be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium and the second round of 3 matches to be played at ICC Academy Oval 1 ground in Dubai.

After the 21 tri-series have been completed the top three teams will confirm their place in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2022. The bottom four teams will drop into the Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-Off 2022, where they will be joined by the winner of Challenge League A and B. The top two teams from the Play-Off will keep their hopes alive of participating in India 2023, by qualifying for the Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2022.
