Schedule announced for 4-nation Continental T20 Cup in Netherlands

Netherlands Cricket Board (KNCB) will host the 2018 edition of Continental T20 Cup on 29th and 30th Jun 2018 at Excelsior’20 ground in Schiedam.

Netherlands XI, South Africa School XI, Austria and Belgium will be taking part in the T20 tournament, which will feature two T20 matches on both the days, due to start at 10:30 am and 14:30 pm respectively (all times local). The schedule for the tournament has been announced.

The 3rd/4th play-off and final of the tournament will have a match start time of 14:15 pm. Both the grass pitch and the artificial mat surfaces at Excelsior’20 grounds will be used for the duration of the 2-day event.

29th June 2018: Austria vs Netherlands A @ Excelsior’20 (grass) ; Belgium vs South Africa XI @ Excelsior’20 (artificial) – both games to start at 10:30 am

29th June 2018: Austria vs Belgium @ Excelsior’20 (grass) ; Netherlands A vs South Africa XI @ Excelsior’20 (artificial) – both games to start at 14:30 pm

30th June 2018: Austria vs South Africa XI @ Excelsior’20 (grass) ; Belgium vs Netherlands A @ Excelsior’20 (artificial) – both games to start at 10:30 am

30th June 2018: Final @ Excelsior’20 (grass) ; 3rd/4th Play-off @ Excelsior’20 (artificial) – both games to start at 14:15 pm

Due to player availability, two separate squads have been announced for Netherlands XI for matches on 29th and 30th Jun 2018. The tournament will be vital for Austria and Belgium’s preparations towards ICC World T20 Europe qualifiers, to be held in Netherlands later this year.

Netherlands “A” won the 2017 edition of the tournament. The tournament provides good opportunities for Netherlands domestic players, currently involved in 2018 Topklasse season at home. Austria recently took part in a 5-match series against Norway and will be looking to continue their preps for World T20 Europe qualifiers in Netherlands in Aug/Sep 2018.
