After multiple number of postponements, Oman Cricket (OC) has been awarded the hosting rights for the Asian Cricket Council’s Western region T20 tournament from 20th – 25th Jan, 2019. The tournament was originally scheduled for Dec 2018 in Kuwait.

As reported by Times of Oman, Oman will play host’s to teams from Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Maldives & Saudi Arabia in the 5-nation tournament. All matches in the tournament are eligible for T20I status as per the new status rules effective for men’s International matches between all ICC members from 01st Jan 2019.

ICC recently released the Women’s T20I team rankings and all International matches played in the past 2-3 years were taken into consideration to provide an initial ranking to Associate member nations.
