NPCA (Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association) are currently hosting the Men’s Super Division and Division 1 and 2 tournaments in the 50-overs format, which started from 10th July 2022 at various venues across Nairobi to start domestic cricket proceedings in the country. The nine (9) provincial clubs competing in the Super Division league are Swamibapa Sports Club, Kanbis Sports Club, Sikh Union, Ruaraka Sports Club, Stray Lions Club, SCLPS, Sir Ali Muslim Cricket Club, Obuya Academy and Nairobi Gymkhana Cricket Club. Twelve (12) clubs will be competing in the Division 1 competition, with two groups of six (6) teams each playing in the group-stage format, and sixteen (16) teams are part of the Division 2 competition.
The domestic 50-overs competition provided preparations for the national squad members, which travelled to Jersey in August 2022 for the 3rd and Final round of ICC Men’s Challenge League B, to take on the host’s along with Bermuda, Hong Kong, Italy and Uganda. The National squad players were recently involved in a home series against the visiting team from Nepal in August/September, and have a scheduled trip to Benoni in South Africa next, to compete in the ACA T20 Africa Cup Finals. On the domestic front, the players will be taking part in the Africa Cricket Premier League (ACPL Kenya T20) event in December.
