Oman Cricket (OC) will host the 8-nation U16 Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Western region tournament from Oct 21st – 29th, 2019. U16 team’s from Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Maldives, Oman and Saudi Arabia will take part in the tournament, which will be played in the 35-overs format.
UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Bahrain are placed in Group A of the tourament, while Oman, Qatar, Maldives, Kuwait are placed in Group B. After the single round-robin group stage format is completed, the top 2 team’s from each of the group will advance to the semi-final’s stage of the tournament. All matches will be played on the 2 turf wickets at Al Amerat ground and will start at 9:30am local time.
UAE are the defending champions from the previous edition held in UAE in 2018, where they defeat Kuwait in the final of the tournament. Most of the players have now gone onto represent their respective countries in the U19 level in the recently concluded U19 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
