Uganda Cricket Association have revealed the fixtures for the upcoming ICC World Cricket League Division 3 on their twitter handle @CricketUganda. As earlier reported, Cricket Oman have been given the hosting rights for the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 in Nov 2018.
The road to 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup dreams continues for Denmark, Uganda, Oman, Kenya, Singapore and USA in ICC WCL Division 3, which will be played from Nov 07th – 21st. This will bring upon a change in the scheduling of WCL divisions from a week to a 2-week itinerary due to availability of only two turf wickets in Oman.
While Oman and Kenya finished 5th and 6th respectively in the WCL Division 2 held in Namibia in Feb 2018, Uganda and Denmark claimed their spot from WCL Division 4 held in Malaysia in Apr 2018. USA and Singapore remained in WCL Division 3 from the last held edition of the tournament.
Two matches will take place on each match day instead of the customary three held in WCL events due to shortage of turf wickets and four reserve days has also been kept in place. Top 2 teams at the end of the single round-robin format stage will qualify for ICC World Cricket League Division 2, to be held in 2019 (Date to be announced later).
