Schedule announced for T20 Tri-series in Zimbabwe involving Kenya

The schedule for the T20 Tri-series to be played at New Hararians and Takashinga grounds in Zimbabwe between Zimbabwe Select, Zimbabwe Board XI and Kenya has been announced from 12th – 19th Jun, 2018.

Each team plays each other thrice during the round robin phase, following the conclusion of which, the top 2 teams will contest the Final on 19th Jun 2018.

The two Zimbabwe squads consists of Zimbabwe national squad members and upcoming talent, who will look to impress ahead of limited overs series against Australia and Pakistan in Jul 2018.

This will be the first tournament for Kenya, after their last International assignment being in ICC WCL Division 2 tournament in Namibia in Feb 2018. This will also be the first International assignment for Head Coach, Maurice Odumbe, as he prepares the national squad ahead of ICC World T20 Africa “B” qualifiers in Rwanda in Jul 2018.

Odumbe has previously mentioned that he would like to bring in the youngsters from the Kenya U19 squad, which participated in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in Feb 2018 in New Zealand. He has been involved in training sessions with the national players for few weeks now and has singled out few things that he would like to work on with the players. Odumbe gave a progress report in his interview with All Africa recently.
