Cricket Ireland have announced the schedule for the upcoming T20I quadrangular series in Oman from Feb 13th – 17th, 2018. Ireland will be competing along with the host’s Oman, Netherlands and Scotland in the series before travelling to India for their full series against Afghanistan.
Oman will be hosting a Full member nation for the first time on home turf in an official series. After a successful campaign at home in the recently concluded ICC World Cricket League Division 3, Cricket Oman will be looking forward to hosting this high-profile series, that will further showcase their hosting capabilities and to have more opportunities in the future to host International events.
The series will also be the first International assignment of the year for Netherlands and Scotland. Netherlands squad members will also travel to India after the conclusion of the tournament to play a series of List-A (50-overs) matches against select State squads in Chennai and Bangalore respectively.
The T20I quadrangular will be a single round-robin format tournament with the top country at the end of the group stage to be declared the winners of the trophy. Ireland will also play two T20 matches against Oman development XI squad on 09th & 10th Feb before the start of the series to acclimatise to the conditions. All matches will be played at OC (Oman Cricket) turf 1 & 2 grounds at Al Amarat.
