The schedule for Zimbabwe Women’s T20 Challenge tournament from Apr 29th – May 03rd, 2018 has been announced with Tanzania Women set to face Zimbabwe Women in the opener and Uganda to face Namibia at the same time at the other ground at Old Hararians.
Host’s Zimbabwe will be competing against Tanzania, Uganda and Namibia for the trophy. All the countries were part of the ICC Women’s World T20 Africa region qualifiers, with Kenya the only absentee from that event in this T20 Challenge.
The tournament will be crucial for Uganda Women’s team preparation towards WorldT20 qualifiers in Netherlands. Tanzania Women recently fared well in the ASEAN Women’s T20 Cup tournament in Thailand and it will be a rare occasion for them to be playing two International tournaments between 2-3 months of each other.
Zimbabwe and Namibia will have some points to prove after losing out to Uganda in the WorldT20 Africa Qualifiers. Matches will be played at the grounds at Old Hararians while the 3rd/4th and Final will be played at Takashinga.
