Scotland ace high-scoring chase against Netherlands in South Africa

There’s never a dull moment when the top 2 teams from 2015-2017 ICC WCL Championship, Netherlands and Scotland meet-up for a game of cricket. The match between them on 22nd Feb 2018 in Pretoria was no different.

A high-scoring contest, which Scotland aces rather convincingly against the Dutch bowlers with top-order of Scotland getting into he thick of things before ICC World Cup Qualifiers. Netherlands were unlucky having made a good total of 289 in their 50 overs, but unable to defend it as Scotland lost only 3 wickets en-route to their target to win the match by 7 wickets and an over to spare.

Openers from both the camps got starts for their teams, which bodes well for their campaign in the upcoming WCQ, with the middle-order also contributing runs towards the overall team totals.

For Netherlands, Scott Edwards and Ryan ten Doeschate got half-centuries amidst a brilliant century by Roelof van der Merwe. For Scotland, Matthew Cross, Kyle Coetzer, Richie Barrington and George Minded did the bulk of the scoring.
