Scotland U19 preparations continue in UK for World Cup Europe qualifiers

Cricket Scotland U19 men’s squad have been preparing themselves for the upcoming U19 World Cup Europe regional qualifiers in Spain from September 19th – 25th, 2021. Scotland will be competing with U19 teams from Ireland, Netherlands and Jersey for the lone qualification spot into the main draw of ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in 2022 in West Indies.

Scotland U19 team have been playing regular matches in 50-overs format in the UK since June 2021, and have played against the likes of Northumberland Development team and Cumbria Development team, and will play against Durham Cricket Academy in September to continue their preparations.

Scotland U19 have been a consistent presence in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, having qualified four times in the last five editions held in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020. They missed out in the 2018 edition, where they lost out in the final of the qualifiers with Ireland U19, who have been at the losing end in the finals of the other four editions of European qualifiers for the World Cup years mentioned above.
