Cricket Scotland (CS) have announced the 14-member Women’s national squad to take part in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe qualifiers in La Manga, Spain from August 25th – 31st, 2021. Scotland Women will be competing with teams from Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, France and Turkey for one qualification spot from the competition into the global qualifiers, however the 2nd best finish team among the five regional qualifiers (Americas, Asia, Africa, Europe and East Asia-Pacific) will also claim the final spot in the global qualifiers in 2022.
Kathryn Bryce, Sarah Bryce and Abtaha Maqsood, who have been taking part in the Hundred competition in England, will join up with the rest of the squad, who have been preparing for the tournament by playing a series of eight (8) inter-squad T20 matches held during July/August 2021. The squad has played International matches in 2021, when they toured Ireland in May to play a WT20I series.
