Scots & Dutch make winning starts in 50-overs format in ECB Women’s County Championship

Scotland A and Netherlands Women’s team’s made winning starts to their campaigns in the 50-over format of the ECB (England & Wales Cricket Board) Women’s County Championships in Division 3. Following their performance in the T20 format in the prior weeks, both teams will be looking forward to continue their preparations as ICC WorldT20 qualifiers looms ahead in Jul 2018 in Netherlands.

Both camps will be pretty satisfied with the efforts of their bowlers, which ensured their victories in the respective first round matches. While Scotland A Women bowlers defended their total, Netherlands Women bowlers set-up the game for the batters. Scotland A Women however, will not be entirely pleased with the way they batted and got wrapped up for only 154 against Cumbria Women XI.

Scotland A Women are placed along with Cumbria Women, Durham Cricket Board Women and Northumberland Women in Group A of Division 3 while Netherlands Women are clubbed with Dorset Women, Wiltshire Cricket Board Women and Cornwall Women in Group B of Division 3.

Scotland A Women 154 all out in 47.2 overs (Sarah Bryce 35, Rachel Scholes 19, Charlotte Dalton 17, Megan Smith 4/24, Georgina Brown 3/29, Sarah Smith 2/37) beat Cumbria Women XI 68 all out in 41.2 overs (Elizabeth Priddle 23, Lois Wilkinson 2/11, Jess Mills 2/11, Abtaha Maqsood 2/13, Rachel Scholes 2/16) by 86 runs

Dorset Women XI 103 all out in 44.2 overs (Zara Brown 17, Lucy Prest 14, Annemijn Thomson 4/25, Nayla Groenendijk 2/15, Heather Siegers 2/1, Robine Rijke 1/10) lost to Netherlands Women XI 107 for no loss in 23.1 overs (Denise Hannema 63 n.o, Jolien van Vliet 20 n.o) by 10 wickets
