Singapore Cricket Association (SCA) and Cricket Federation Cambodia (CAC) have signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) to facilitate development of the sport in Cambodia in a multi-year agreement until 2027. The agreement will also see the Cambodian men’s national squad play an annual bi-lateral series of T20 matches with Singapore squad until 2027, with the first of the series expected to take place in May 2022 in Singapore at the Indian Association ground.
The MoU for the Southeast Asia Cricket Growth (SEACG), as the tournament is officially called, was signed yesterday by CEO Manish Sharma, representing the CAC, and SCA CEO Saad Khan Janjua, as reported by Khmer Times.
“The Singapore Cricket Association will also provide technical support to develop cricket facilities in Cambodia and will donate some equipment to CAC, old or new, as per availability,” CAC CEO Manish Sharma said.
Prior to the upcoming Singapore tour, a selection of Cambodian and expat players will play a series of friendly matches against the visiting team of The Royal Strikers Club of Malaysia, with the Royal Warrior Cricket Club of Phnom Penh set to play a series of 50-overs and T20 matches from April 29th to May 04th at the Morodok Techo National Stadium.
