Guernsey Cricket Board (GCB) will be hosting the Men’s Academy squads from England’s County clubs Somerset and Hampshire at KGV Memorial playing fields on April 10th and 11th, 2024 for a Tri-series in the T20 format. The T20 series, to be known as Cornerstone Cup T20, will begin the 2024 International season for Guernsey Men’s team, ahead of a busy summer that includes European sub-regional qualifier for 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. All the teams will then play a Tri-series in the 50-overs format as well at the same venue from April 12th – 14th. Following the conclusion of this series, Guernsey Men will also play a 3-match series with Ireland Academy (U19) squad on April 19th and 20th, 2024 in both 50-overs and T20 formats.
The series will mark the beginning of Ollie Nightingale’s tenure as Guernsey senior Men’s side captain, after he was appointed for the role in December 2023. Nightingale has represented and led St Ouen club in Jersey’s domestic competitions, and will be taking over from Josh Butler, who stepped down from the role of Captaincy in 2023.
