Spain crowned Champions of 2019 Iberia Cup at La Manga

Cricket Espana men’s national squad have won the 2019 Iberia Cup at La Manga Club, remaining unbeaten in the 4 T20I matches (2 each against Gibraltar and Portugal) from Oct 25th – 27th, 2019.

Portugal registered 2 T20I wins over Gibraltar, who finished the tournament without a win to their name. All matches contributed towards ranking points for Global ICC Men’s T20I Team rankings. All matches were live streamed on European Cricket Network (ECN) website.

Najjam Shahzad (Portugal ) was the highest run-scorer in the tournament with 126 runs in 4 innings, followed by Balaji Avinash Pai (Gilraltar) with 124 runs in 4 innings and Faran Afzal (Portugal) with 121 runs in 4 innings. All three also registered a T20I half-century during the tournament. Tariq Aziz (Portugal) and Balaji Avinash Pai (Gibraltar) were the highest wicket-taker’s in the tournament with 6 scalps each, followed by Yasir Ali (Spain), Matt Hunter (Gibraltar) and Najjam Shahzad (Portugal) with 4 wickets each to their names.
