An eventful final day of group stage action in the Malaysian Super Women League at Kinrara Oval saw Eastern Lioness finish at the top of the points table after notching up their 2nd consecutive win and edging out Northern Queens on net run-rate, who suffered their first loss in the tournament, and finishing with the same number of wins in the event.
While Eastern Lioness beat Central Super Girls by 44 runs, the first game of the day saw Southern Jaguars win their first game in the group stage, as they beat Northern Queens by 18 runs. The day belonged to Lioness captain Samantha Arnold, who made the highest individual score in the event to finish unbeaten on 91 runs against the Central Super Girls and the bowling trio of Ainna Hamizah, Arianna Natasya and Diviya GK for Southern Jaguars, who put in the match winning spells to stun Northern Queens, while defending a par score of 120+.
Eastern Lioness will now meet Southern Jaguars in the first semifinal on 01st Jan 2020, while Northern Queens will take on Central Super Girls in the 2nd semifinal of the day.
