Malta Cricket Association (MCA) will be hosting a Men’s 4-nation Valletta Cup T20I quadrangular tournament at Marsa Sports Club ground from October 22nd – 24th, which will be Cricket Switzerland’s first International tournament since its readmission to the International Cricket Council (ICC) as an associate member nation in July 2021.
Switzerland Men’s team will be competing against teams from Gibraltar and Bulgaria, along with the host’s. All matches will take place at the Marsa Sports Club Cricket Ground, which has already hosted T20I matches this year, when the national squad played a bi-lateral series with Belgium. Bulgaria and Malta were involved in the 6-nation Continental Cup tournament in Romania this year and have also played other T20I matches at home this season, while Gibraltar and Malta Men’s team travelled to Portugal to take part in a Tri-nation T20I series.
After the conclusion of the tournament, Gibraltar team will further play two (2) additional T20I matches with Malta (bi-lateral series) at the same venue on the 25th of October. Switzerland players have been selected based on their domestic T20 competition performances in the 2021 season.
