Switzerland has been given invitation to take part in 2018 Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools Cricket Tournament to be held in Barbados.
The two week tournament from 7th – 24th July 2018 will be played in 40-overs format. The final will be played at the Kensington Oval, designated Test match venue for West Indies.
Recently, CHF 7000 was raised during the Kyburg Run, which is covered across the distance of 10.5 km. Runners had to manage the challenge of an altitude difference of 217 m, which includes a 1.3 km climb of 450 steps in the last part of the run up to the castle of Kyburg and towards the finishing line. The amount raised will be used towards financial support for the U-19 squad members.
The 2017 edition of the tournament saw 24 teams take part in the tournament and it will be a big opportunity for Swiss U-19 players to experience different conditions and opposition to improve their skills.
