Cricket Canada to host Netherlands and USA for ODI Tri-series in June 2026

Cricket Canada will be hosting the Men’s National teams from United States of America (USA) and Netherlands for an ODI Tri-series from June 06th – 16th, 2026, which will be the nineteenth (19th) round of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cycle (Qualification pathway tournament towards 2027 CWC Global Qualifier). Top four (4) after completion of 36 ODIs for all in the CWC League 2 Championship will qualify directly for 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier (CWCQ). Bottom four (4) teams in the points table will then compete in CWC Qualifier Play-off tournament, along with four (4) teams from the Challenge League competitions (Top 2 teams from both groups) for four (4) spots in CWCQ.

As per the original Men’s Associate FTP, T20Is (either a Tri-series or Bi-lateral) were scheduled as part of each Tri-series in the CWC League 2 ODI Championship, but it depends on the participating boards on their own arrangements, as it is not part of ICC funding.

Cricket Canada to host Men’s/Women’s National Championships in August 2025

Cricket Canada (CC) will be organizing the Men’s National Championships 2025 in both One-day (50-overs) and T20 formats from August 06th – 13th, 2025 at Brampton, Ontario. With the CWC League 2 ODI Championship Tri-series featuring the host’s, Namibia and Scotland starting this month from 27th August, the National Championships will be crucial for all the players to showcase their skills to the selectors and get picked in the main squad for the ODI Tri-series.

Both the One-day and T20 competitions will feature four (4) teams, namely, Central Shield, Eastern Fury, Prairies Fire and Western Grizzlies. All squads have been announced for both the formats. The One-day competition will run from August 06th – 08th in a single round-robin group stage format, while the T20 competition will see the teams compete in a double round-robin group stage format, followed by the 3rd/4th play-off and the Final.

Cricket Canada (CC) will be hosting the Men’s National teams from Scotland and Namibia for an ODI Tri-series from August 27th – September 06th, 2025, which will be the fourteenth (14th) round of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cycle (Qualification pathway tournament towards 2027 CWC Global Qualifier). Top four (4) after completion of 36 ODIs for all in the CWC League 2 Championship will qualify directly for 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier (CWCQ). Bottom four (4) teams in the points table will then compete in CWC Qualifier Play-off tournament, along with four (4) teams from the Challenge League competitions (Top 2 teams from both groups) for four (4) spots in CWCQ.

Cricket Canada are also using the opportunity to provide competitive exposure for their A squad players through their High Performance One-day program, with matches scheduled with Namibia, before the start of the ODI Tri-series, which in turn provides warm-up for the Namibian Team.

Currently, it is unknown if there will be a T20I Tri-series or Bi-lateral T20Is between the teams after the conclusion of the ODI Tri-series. As per the original Men’s Associate FTP, T20Is (either a Tri-series or Bi-lateral) were scheduled as part of each Tri-series in the CWC League 2 ODI Championship, but it depends on the participating boards on their own arrangements, as it is not part of ICC funding.

Cricket Canada to host 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier in June 2025

Cricket Canada (CC) will be hosting the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier from June 15th – 22nd, 2025. Nationals teams of Canada, Bermuda, Cayman Islands and Bermuda will be competing in the tournament for one (1) qualification spot into the main event next year in India and Sri Lanka. All the participating countries have faced each other in T20Is recently, during the inaugural edition of the North American Cricket Cup tournament in Cayman Islands in April 2025.

All the participating countries will play against each other before the start of the Qualifier in the NoFrills T20I series from June 11th – 13th, and the matches will help the likes of Bahamas, Cayman Islands and Bermuda to get acclimatised to the conditions.

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) will be hosting the Men’s National team of Canada for a three (3)-match One-day (List-A) series with their ‘A’ team from February 20th – March 01st, 2025 at the Takashinga Sports club and Harare Sports club grounds. The series is part of Canadian Team’ preparation towards the upcoming round in Namibia in March 2025 in the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 ODI Championship.

Canada Men will be playing two (2) warm-up fixtures against Zimbabwe Academy team to start the tour, before playing the ‘A’ team in the ODI series. USA Cricket to host Canada and Bangladesh Men for T20I bi-lateral series in April/May 2024

USA Cricket have announced that they will be hosting Men’s National teams from Canada and Bangladesh for bi-lateral T20 International series (with ranking points) in April 2024 at Prairie View Cricket Complex (PVCC) ovals. These games will mark the return for USA Men’s team for the first time in T20Is since December 2022 and for the first time in International Cricket since 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Global Qualifier in July in Zimbabwe.

The resumption in bi-lateral series between Canada and USA Men’s team will see five (5) games being played from April 07th – 13th, followed by a three (3) match series with Bangladesh Men from May 21st – 25th. USA players are playing the National T20 Championships at the same venue these T20Is will be held, so opportunity is there for many players to impress the national selectors ahead of these twin series.

Canada Men’s National squad will be having a preparatory camp in USA ahead of the series, and will be playing practice games against select teams, as well as inter-squad games.
