Tanzania Cricket to host final round of CWC Challenge League Group B in August 2026

Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) will be hosting the third (3rd) and the final round 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League Group B from August 08th – 17th, 2026, at the University of Dar es Salaam Ground 1 and Ground 2 in Dar-es-Salaam. TCA will host the Men’s National teams of Bahrain, Hong Kong-China, Italy, Singapore and Uganda in the last of the three (3) scheduled rounds for both the groups, at the conclusion of which the top two (2) teams from both the groups will advance to the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off tournament.

Uganda and Italy are well placed in the group after the conclusion of the first two (2) rounds, with Hong Kong, China being the next closest competitor to both, with Bahrain at a very distant fourth place. If both Uganda and Italy manage a good third (3rd) round and finish the group in top two (2) spots, then they will become the 26th and 27th Team to play Men’s ODI status matches (Jersey became the 25th Nation after the previous cycle of CWC Challenge League) in the 2027 ICC CWC Qualifier play-off tournament. Host’s Tanzania and Singapore are already out of contention for a shot at the top 2 finish.

As per ICC directive, Teams competing the Challenge League Groups can play 50-overs matches against each other, or with the current CWC League 2 participants, with List-A status. Tanzania Cricket will be hosting Hong Kong, China and Uganda for a series of matches before the start of the final round of Challenge League, with List-A status.

Cricket Oman (OC) will be hosting the Men’s National Teams of Canada and Nepal for an ODI Tri-series from October 09th – 19th, 2026, which will be the twenty-second (22nd) round of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cycle (Qualification pathway tournament towards 2027 CWC Global Qualifier). Top four (4) after completion of 36 ODIs for all in the CWC League 2 Championship will qualify directly for 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier (CWCQ). Bottom four (4) teams in the points table will then compete in CWC Qualifier Play-off tournament, along with four (4) teams from the Challenge League competitions (Top 2 teams from both groups) for four (4) spots in CWCQ.

As per the original Men’s Associate FTP, T20Is (either a Tri-series or Bi-lateral) were scheduled as part of each Tri-series in the CWC League 2 ODI Championship, but it depends on the participating boards on their own arrangements, as it is not part of ICC funding.

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) will be hosting the Men’s National teams from United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman for an ODI Tri-series from April 21st – May 05th, 2026, which will be the sixteenth (16th) round of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cycle (Qualification pathway tournament towards 2027 CWC Global Qualifier). Top four (4) after completion of 36 ODIs for all in the CWC League 2 Championship will qualify directly for 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier (CWCQ). The Tri-series was originally scheduled for March 2026, but got postponed due to ongoing conflicts in the West Asia region, due to which the teams of Oman and UAE were unable to travel to Nepal. UAE Men will be playing two (2) T20 International matches (with ICC T20I team ranking points) with Nepal to start their tour on April 20th and 21st, 2026.

Cricket Hong Kong, China (CHK) will be hosting the second (2nd) round of 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League Group B from February 07th – 17th, 2025. CHK will host the Men’s National teams of Bahrain, Uganda, Italy, Singapore and Tanzania in the second of the three (3) scheduled rounds for both the groups, at the conclusion of which the top two (2) teams from both the groups will advance to the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off tournament.

The 2nd round will be crucial for Tanzania and Singapore teams to stay in the hunt for the top two (2) places, along with the table toppers. Similarly, Uganda, Italy and Hong Kong, China will be looking forward to creating a sizeable lead over the other teams, heading into the final round, and then compete for the two (2) spots.

Cricket Namibia to host CWC Qualifier play-off in March/April 2023

Cricket Namibia (CN) have been awarded the hosting rights for the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier play-off tournament from 24th March – 05th April 2023. Men’s National teams of Jersey and Canada have qualified from their respective CWC Challenge League groups by finishing on top of the points table, into the CWC Qualifier Play-off tournament. The Play-off tournament will carry official ODI status for all the matches, and which will mean that Jersey Men’s team will be playing their maiden one-day game in the ODI format and will become the 25th Men’s team to do so, and it will be a return for Canada Men’s team in the format that they had lost the opportunity to compete for in the previous World Cup qualification cycle.

Jersey qualified from the Challenge League B group, which consisted of teams from Uganda, Hong Kong, Italy, Kenya and Bermuda after the completion of the three (3) scheduled rounds in the event. Canada have qualified from the Challenge League A group, which consisted of teams from Singapore, Qatar, Denmark, Vanuatu and Malaysia. Both Jersey and Canada will be joined by four (4) bottom-placed teams in the CWC Super League 2 competition, with the eventual six (6) team tournament will be competed for the final two (2) qualification spots into the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in June/July in Zimbabwe. The Top four (4) teams in the qualifier play-off tournament will be part of the next cycle of CWC League 2 Championship pathway program towards qualification for 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Canada Men’s team to tour Sri Lanka in March 2023

Cricket Canada Men’s National squad will be travelling to Sri Lanka from March 07th – 20th, 2023 for a preparatory tour before travelling to Namibia for 2023 CWC Qualifier play-off tournament. The team will be playing four (4) matches in the 50-overs format with Sri Lanka Development squad across multiple venues in the country. The National squad were last seen in action in November 2022, when they toured Oman for a T20I quadrangular series (also featuring Bahrain and Saudi Arabia) and a 50-overs series with the host’s.

USA Cricket Men’s National squad will be travelling to Karnataka, India from March 07th – 15th, 2023 for a preparatory tour before travelling to Namibia for 2023 CWC Qualifier play-off tournament. The team will be playing five (5) matches in the 50-overs format with Karnataka select XI squad across multiple venues in the state (Bengaluru and Alur). The National squad were last seen in action in November 2022 in Namibia during the CWC League 2 ODI Tri-series involving the host’s and Papua New Guinea (PNG).
