Tanzania Men’s team to prepare for ICC Africa sub-regional qualifiers in Rwanda with Kenya tour

Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) have announced that the men’s national squad will be travelling to Mombasa in Kenya for a preparatory camp from October 21st – 24th, and will play a five (5) match series with Coast Cricket Association (CCA) select XI team in the T20 format to prepare for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa sub-regional qualifiers in Rwanda in the first week of November 2021. TCA have also confirmed that all the matches from the series will be live streamed and will be notified on the matchdays.

Tanzania will be competing in the sub-regional qualifiers in Rwanda against teams from Botswana, Sierra Leone, Cameroon and Mozambique from November 02nd – 07th and will hope to claim the lone qualification spot available from the event into the Regional Finals in Rwanda during November month-end, where Kenya and Nigeria are already qualified based on their Men’s T20 World Cup Global qualifiers appearance in 2019 in UAE.

The selected players have been playing domestic competitions at home in both 40-overs and T20 formats, with the franchise-based Tanzania Advanced Premier League T20 competition being the top event held in the country and is a benchmark tournament for players to get noticed for national squad selection process.
