Following their unbeaten run in the recently concluded Women’s T20 Smash tournament, Thailand Women (149 rating points) have regained their 12th place in the ICC Women’s T20I Team rankings, taking over the position from Zimbabwe, who had displaced them for a brief period after their 5-0 series victory over Namibia Women at the beginning of the year.
Nepal Women, who finished runners-up in the T20 Smash, with their only loss coming in the Final of the event against the hosts and eventual winners Thailand, have gained 2 places in the rankings to sit at 16th place with 123 rating points. UAE Women retain their 14th place in the ratings with 127 rating points.
Indonesia Women have gained good places based on their outing in the T20 Smash, occupying the 21st position in the table now with 86 rating points, while Hong Kong Women slipped to 22nd place with 79 rating points.
Although China Women had a torrid experience in the T20 Smash, they still sit at their 25th place in the table with 63 rating points. Malaysia Women (32nd place with 43 rating points), Myanmar Women (33rd place with 38 rating points) and Bhutan Women (39th place with 23 rating points) complete the places for the remaining countries, who took part in the tournament.
Most of the countries will again be in action in Feb 2019 in Thailand for the ICC Women’s World Cup / Women’s T20 World Cup Asian qualifiers.
