Thailand beat India “A” in Womens Quadrangular Series

Thailand Women and Bangladesh Women are taking part in the Womens Quadrangular Series in India, which features two squads from the host’s, India “A” and India “B”. All the teams are playing each other in a single round-robin group stage format, at the conclusion of which, the top two teams will face/off in the final, while the other two teams will play in the 3rd/4th place play-off game.

All matches are being played at Urja Stadium, Patna. Thailand and Bangladesh Women will be taking part in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia in Feb 2020 and this tournament is providing them the opportunity to prepare for the global event. This tour has been an extended preparatory excercise for the Thailand Women squad, after spending the most of Dec/Jan in Australia, playing against local domestic sides to get accustomed to the conditions.

Thailand Women lost their first group stage match against India “B” squad on 16th Jan 2020, before defeating India “A” squad on 18th Jan 2020. They play their final group stage match against Bangladesh on 20th Jan and the winner of the game will play India “B” in the final of the tournament.
