Cricket Association of Thailand (CAT) have announced their 15-member Women’s squad for their first appearance at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia in Feb 2020.
Thailand squad boasts of Nattaya Boochatham, the leading wicket-taker in T20Is in 2019, Naruemol Chaiwai, the leading run-scorer in T20Is in 2019 and ICC Women’s Emerging Player of the Year, Chanida Sutthiruang, in their ranks alongside the experienced duo of Sornnarin Tippoch and Suleeporn Laomi.
Thailand squad have had an extensive run-up to the ICC event, with three members of the squad representing ICC Global Development Squad on their tour of Australia in Nov/Dec 2019, followed by the squads tour of Australia, where they played matches against the domestic clubs. The squad then travelled to India and played a T20 Quadrangular series involving Bangladesh Women as well, to whom they lost in the finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers in 2019.
Thailand are drawn alongside West Indies, South Africa, England and Pakistan in Group B.
