Cricket Association of Thailand (CAT) will be hosting women’s squads from Ireland, Netherlands and Zimbabwe in a 4-nation 50-over quadrangular series from Feb 03rd – 11th, 2020. The series is being held in line with the preparations for all the four countries for the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in Sri Lanka in Jul 2020.
While Ireland were given WODI status and direct entry into the World Cup Qualifiers, Zimbabwe, Netherlands and Thailand qualified from the respective regional qualifiers for Africa, Europe and Asian regions in 2019. All countries will play six 50-overs matches during the series, which will help them in adjusting to the longer formet of white-ball cricket, with T20s having dominated fixtures in the past 12 months or so.
