Thailand Women’s team have maintained their unbeaten run in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup Asia qualifiers 2019 to move closer to advancing into the global qualifiers from the region. Registering their 5th overall win in as many games (which takes their unbeaten run to 12 T20I games now), Thailand are well placed at the top of the points table south a huge net run-rate advantage over their nearest rivals in UAE and Nepal.

UAE Women and Nepal Women, who have both won 4 matches out of their 5 games so far, sit on 8 points each, with the final group matches on 27th Feb 2019 will see Nepal Women take on Kuwait Women, while UAE Women will square off against Thailand Women.

China Women came very close to winning their 4th game but fell agonisingly short by 5 runs against Nepal Women to conclude a successful campaign with 3 wins from 6 matches to finish 4th in the 7-nation tournament overall, above Malaysia Women, Hong Kong Women and Kuwait Women.

Hong Kong Women claimed their first win of the event against Kuwait Women but Kuwait still have a match to go against Nepal on the final day of the tournament.

The winner of the tournament will advance to global qualifiers for both Women’s T20 World Cup (2020) and Women’s World Cup (2021).
