Cricket Association of Thailand (CAT) Women’s national squad is set to tour Zimbabwe from August 18th – 31st, 2021 to prepare themselves for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers scheduled to take place in November 2021 in Zimbabwe. The series will consist of four (4) matches in the 50-over format and three (3) matches in the T20 format.
All the matches from the series will be live streamed on Zimbabwe Cricket’s YouTube channel.
Zimbabwe’s Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) has granted approval for the national squad to start their training sessions in order to host the Thailand Women squad. SRC have also given the approval for the national squad to host the Women’s team from Ireland from October 05th – 14th, 2021. Zimbabwe are currently scheduled to host the 10-team Women’s World Cup Qualifiers at home and these two series will be crucial for the teams preparations for the global event.
Thailand Women were last seen in action during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup held in Australia in February/March 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic situation disrupted all International cricket. The players have been playing practice matches against the Men’s and U19 squads over the past couple of months.
