Thailand’s Men’s domestic T20 tournament reaches knock-out stage

Among the few domestic events still going on in the Associate member countries, Cricket Association of Thailand’s men’s domestic T20 tournament has now reached the knock-out stage of the competition after the conclusion of the group stages, that took place from 11th Jan – 15th Mar, 2020.

Seven team’s (Thailand Flash, Southerners Gold, Bangkok Blues, Bangkok Warriors, Pakistan Royals, Kerala Tuskers and Siam Parrots) took part in the tournament, from which Thailand Flash will compete against Bangkok Warriors in the first semi-final and Southerners Gold will play against Bangkok Blues in the second semi-final on 21st Mar 2020 at Terdthai Cricket Ground. Thailand Flash and Southerners Gold registered four wins in their six group stage games to finish on top of the points table, with Flash taking the top spot on net run-rate difference. Bangkok Warriors and Blues each had three wins in their six group stage matches, with Blues finishing third in the points table, edging past Warriors on net run-rate.

Thailand men’s national squad had a disappoiting campaign in the ACC Eastern Region T20 tournament held at home, losing all their group matches against Hong Kong, Singapore, Nepal and Malaysia. However, national squad members in Henno Jordaan, Daniel Jacobs, Ziaul Haque and Nopphon Senamontree produced good individual performances and are also leading the stats for their respective clubs in the men’s T20 tournament.
